Digital technology has embedded itself so deeply in creative practice, that it is no longer questioned as a tool or medium. But digital arts students, are encouraged to explore the theoretical implications of this technology. And whether this is looking at production of, or the interaction with an artwork, a project proposal will allow the student to embark on detailed research into the contextual and practical aspects of the project. The use of blogs and wikis by all students and staff, is vital to encouraging collaboration and building a dynamic cohort, based across the UK, Europe and the globe. This medium along with seminars, lectures and tutorials, allow the student to engage in both the practical and theoretical issues that underpin their practice within the arena of digital arts and new media.
Whether the course is being studied form distance [online] or here at Camberwell, the student is expected to engage in detailed and challenging research. The distance mode of the course runs completely online and attendance is not required at any point. Themed exhibitions and events are aimed at developing communication between the modes of delivery, and enhancing the student experience by expanding the cohort to the whole MA cohort. Importantly these events allow the students to explore the possibilities of communication in the digital era.

My research for this MA has focused on the meanings of empty space. Through my video work, I try to 'record' the meaning and the 'image' that void might has. Moreover, I want to show the quality of empty space and its value. I defined void, taking in mind its abstract image, it’s 'controlled', chaotic motion, sound, tension and substance's transformation into something else.

Byzantine art is both glorious and humble and Digital Art is glorious and spectacular. My research focuses on these alienated forms of art with renowned representatives such as Photios Kontoglou and Bill Viola, looking for bonds. Concentrating on the liturgical and preaching aspects of Byzantine Art, I can visualize Byzantine Art through a digital prism.
