Digital technology has embedded itself so deeply in creative practice, that it is no longer questioned as a tool or medium. But digital arts students, are encouraged to explore the theoretical implications of this technology. And whether this is looking at production of, or the interaction with an artwork, a project proposal will allow the student to embark on detailed research into the contextual and practical aspects of the project. The use of blogs and wikis by all students and staff, is vital to encouraging collaboration and building a dynamic cohort, based across the UK, Europe and the globe. This medium along with seminars, lectures and tutorials, allow the student to engage in both the practical and theoretical issues that underpin their practice within the arena of digital arts and new media.
Whether the course is being studied form distance [online] or here at Camberwell, the student is expected to engage in detailed and challenging research. The distance mode of the course runs completely online and attendance is not required at any point. Themed exhibitions and events are aimed at developing communication between the modes of delivery, and enhancing the student experience by expanding the cohort to the whole MA cohort. Importantly these events allow the students to explore the possibilities of communication in the digital era.

My practice involves imprinting the 'act of experience' directly unto the image. I am not concerned with why something takes place or what happens, but how it is that we come to understand the world. Like Bill Viola and James Turrell, I explore ideas of human consciousness by posing the question, 'What is it that you see?'

My project is an exploration of the breath, and the process of breathing. Using the digital interface as a contemporary medium, this project aims to allow the user to meditate using their breath to generate digital visuals that will respond to the cyclical phases of breathing.

In-Between World
By mixing digital sound and vocalising my dreams I create a visceral journey into my in-between world. This journey attempts to visualise my dream state; the disjoined imagery, the distinct colours and unusual sounds. Using a website and installation I explore different aspects in visualising my dream state.

This project is a participative and interactive video installation artwork, whose conceptualization is achieved by the spectator’s own engagement, and is catalyzed by reciprocal visual and sound extensions to express how communication works or more importantly, how it doesn’t work and to investigate a noblecomputer interaction scheme.

I work with digital moving images and live processing environments. My project is an interactive documentary that explores the aesthetic influence of estates upon cityscapes. The narrative is non-linear; it describes architectural ideas of concrete brutalism and travels between blocks of flats across Europe.
