In my self-portraits I am exploring how and to what extent the overall process of virtualisation impacts identity and, more specifically, generates a new variant and dimension of both individual and collective narcissism; studying theories of e.g. Pierre Lévy, Gilles Deleuze, Jean Baudrillard, Vilém Flusser and scrutinizing my virtual self.

My main research is to understand the way kids visualize the world at the age of 4-5. Kids can have an imagination of any adult; the main difference is that adults can visualize things more pragmatic, and only because they are getting bombard with these images every day.

The conflict between different cultures will never end; some visual symbols of China have been used as an important tool when people want to show the conflict. My project is based on the recreation of some pictures that may cause people look back between western and Chinese culture and the conflicts within the past twenty years.

Responses and observations on a social and cultural level form the backdrop to my illustration practice. The juxtaposition of unlikely sources, minority, marginalised or vulnerable elements, to seek attention for them. The public environment has proved appropriate to situate the work and has enabled practical as well as thematic development.
