The Daydream Club

Coalville lad Adam Pickering met Redcar lass Paula Walker while studying at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and released their debut album Overgrown via their own label (Poco Poco Records) in November 2010. The duo's debut single was the beautiful, fingerpicked Simon & Garfunkel inspired The Record Shop, a limited edition vinyl released to coincide with Record Store Day last year. This led to superb live sessions for BBC's The Beat with Dean Jackson and Tom Robinson's show on BBC6 Music. 2012 looks very exciting for the duo with brilliant new singles On The Move (Part II) and Neon Love Song (Part II) showcasing their new sound which is developing in leaps and bounds. Their trademark boy/girl vocals are now backed by forward thinking arrangements including echoed electric guitar, hypnotic piano and orchestral synths recalling the atmospherics of The XX and Cocteau Twins. They play as part of the BBC Introducing line up at this year's festival.
