Reverend and the Makers

One of Sheffield's brightest bands make the short trip down the M1 to perform for us this year. Led by head Reverend John McClure, they have been making a top electro indie rock racket since 2007's debut album The State of Things. The fantastic debut single Heavyweight Champion Of The World became a massive hit and set the template for their energetic beat driven songs that are perfect for a festival. McClure too has a lyrical dexterity which is rare, casting a keen eye over Sheffield and it's cheap drugs, gritty realism, thrilling escapism, sex, and fish and chip suppers. The band have recently been touring with Noel Gallagher showcasing their third album @Reverend_Makers, due out this May. The record is previewed on their website by the insistent up for it dancefloor stomper Bassline, a song that could easily feature at any party this summer. The Reverend is back and better than ever.
