Ghostpoet

Ghostpoet aka Obaro Ejimiwe has quickly and quietly cemented his stature as one of the UK's most exciting and original MCs during the past twelve months. Heralded a mighty force to be reckoned with by inspirational figures such as Roots Manuva and Mike Skinner of The Streets, Ghostpoet is no flash in the pan. His rise to fame has been leisurely but assured not unlike his characteristic vocal. The softly spoken 24 year-old has already won over BBC Radio 1's foremost tastemakers including Gilles Peterson and Rob Da Bank via a fistful of off-kilter, loopy electronic ditties blessed with his lazy baritone. Peterson's Brownswood Recordings released his debut album Peanut Butter Blues And Melancholy Jam which was nominated for a Mercury last year. In concert Obaro takes his tunes up a gear with a live band including effect laden guitar and crashing drums.
