Elizabeth Cornish

A young singer songwriter of growing reputation, Elizabeth Cornish began performing her own songs live in Basel, Switzerland as a teenager before moving to Leicester in 2007 to pursue University study. Her music is a unique blend of acoustic folk pop, influenced by early 90s singer songwriters such as Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLaughlin. It is highly emotive and personal, characterised by her dynamic guitar work and vocal delivery. Elizabeth began performing around the Leicester area in 2009 with bassist Jason Smith and the duo have been gaining momentum ever since. In 2011 they won the Acoustic Original Bands Showcase, gaining a place at Summer Sundae Weekender Festival. They have also played at Glastonbudget Festival, Oxjam Takeover Leicester and White Noise Christmas Festival. Recently joined by drummer Adam Wykes in late 2011, Elizabeth's sound has grown, yet still retains the intimate warmth of her original solo work. Elizabeth is currently recording a full length debut album scheduled for release in early 2013.
