One of the most interesting bands to come out of the Stateside indie folk scene in recent years. Bowerbirds have been creating sweet noises over three albums since 2007's intimate and soulful debut Songs For A Dark Horse (which featured the majestic single In Our Talons) based around the male/female vocals of couple Philip Moore and Beth Tacular. Latest record The Clearing sees them sticking to their acoustic template but with a broadening of the bands sound to a place not far from the epic dynamics created by Arcade Fire. Chronicling a difficult year prior to it's recording where the couple spent some time apart and Tacular was seriously ill, Bowerbirds have been reborn on superb new tracks like Tuck The Darkness and In The Yard.
