Asian Dub Foundation

One of the most exciting and innovative bands to come out of England in the mid 90s, Asian Dub Foundation have been trailblazing a new genre all their own for nearly 20 years. It's defiantly British Asian mixing many influences including electronica, rock, dub, rap, drun'n'bass and many African and Asian traditions along the way. Their baffling range of music is matched by a social conscience that runs at the centre of their ethos. From 1998's classic single Free Satpal Ram (aiming their sites at rough justice) from their Mercury nominated second album Rafi's Revenge through to 2011's A History of Now, they have promoted a whole host of social injustice issues, notably indigenous resistance and local community music projects. ADF have an incredible international following allowing them to tour the world several times over and recently they played in India for the first time. Explosive live they have an energy rarely matched that constantly breathes new life into their music.
