A new festival of illumination and connectivity, lighting up the city with a trail of interactive and playable artworks.
Light up Leicester centres around the theme of 'connectedness' encompassing interactive, playable and 'connected to the internet' artworks. A trail of seven light-based artworks will be placed around the city centre for you to discover, play with or simply enjoy.
Visitors will also be able to experience Wave Field, a large outdoor artwork installed into Humberstone Gate consisting of eight giant illuminated see-saws that respond with light and sound when put into motion.
Over the festival, artists of all disciplines can drop-in to the Connectedness Clinic and learn how to make their work more connected or interactive with simple low-cost equipment and open source systems.
Light up Leicester is presented by Leicester City Council BID Leicester and ArtReach. It has been made possible by the support of Arts Council England.
