Jason is a Glasgow-based artist whose works are predominately produced by residency format. His previous works have been commissioned by ICA, CCA, Tramway, Hull Time Based Arts, I.Q.U.N. and most recently by Franklin Furnace (New York). Untitled (Archive) is a research based project which examines the politics of urban regeneration and historicisation, whilst focusing on the re-development of Nottingham's historic Lace Market.

Bowman will create a site specific work which relates to how and why a city represents itself by packaging its history either to store or to display.

Working with a team of internees and local historians, and by working across agencies, Bowman will develop a found archive culled from many formal and information resources regarding the history of the Lace Market.

Jason E Bowman is the first artist to work by commissioned residency for NOW ninety7.
