Izna Bandey is a multi-disciplinary artist. Through her artwork, she has been questioning identity; exploring and playing with both the spiritual and physical aspects of the context. Other themes that are common within her artwork are life, death, love, rebirth, reflection, nature and the cosmos.

Bandey uses these ideas and plays with neutral polar opposites; light and dark, and creates metaphors for the seen and unseen. Presence is a key term revolving around her artwork. In her drawings, she has been symbolically using white pigment ink on a black sheet of paper, and created numerous, individual dots of varying sizes and densities.

The marks were made with a balance of control and freedom. With each dot carrying its own significance, when placed amongst each other eventually formulate an abstract image that becomes open to interpretation. In this way the image connects and reflects to each individual viewer personally.
