Jah Free Jah Free has been involved with reggae music for some 15 years. His first involvement in music performance was in the band Tallowah, which later became Bushfire reknowned for their electric live shows across Europe on the festival scene. During their 12 year existence Jah Free set up and ran "Rainbow Studio' in Basildon and consequently worked with a variety of musical styles rock, punk, jazz, new wave etc but no music has ever reached as deep as his beloved reggae. When Bushfire band disbanded he decided to go it alone and Jah Free music was born. Creating new material and using his own material from the bands set, he started to record, design, release and distribute his own records. This resulted in the 7" 'Wicked Can't Run', the 12" 'Lightning Clap', the 10" 'Rydimm' and the 12" 'Vampire' all of which were storming Sound System successes. These releases and the distinctive and powerful live sessions brought Jah Free to Universal Egg attention where he has been nurtured ever since. With appearances on 'All the World in an Egg', 'Lead with the Bass II' and then the full length CD 'Breaking Out' Jah Free has become a firm favourite with core Universal Egg fans as well as increasing his stature on the UK and European Dub scenes. His most recent 12" 'Stringed Instruments' is a taster for the forthcoming 'Herbal Remedy' set currently in production with Zion Train at the helm and expected sometime in 1998. Live Jah Free have played alongside Mad Professor, Iration Steppas, Conscious Sounds, Armagideon and Zion Train. He has also engineered live for The Revolutionary Dub Warriors for a year and worked with Rej Forte, founder of Jah Works and Roots inspiration. The foremost element in Jah Free's Life and Music is Roots as he says himself, 'All the works done and inspiration given is for the greater glory of the creator JAH RASTAFARI - ONE LOVE TO ALL NATIONS AND RIGHT THINKING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE !
