Conscious Sounds/Bush Chemists

Conscious Sounds/Bush Chemists are the lovechild of famed UK dub producer Dougie Wardrop and the UK Sound System scene.

Played on virtually all the Sound Systems in the world and favourites of the Jah Shaka and Abashanti sounds in particuar, there is not a dub DJ in the world worth his salt who doesn't carry Dougie Wardrop productions in his box.

These records are recorded in the London based Conscious Sounds studio where many UK based reggae and dub artists record under the watchful eye of Dougie himself. The sound of the studio is so heavy, even dread, that Jamaican artists such as Junior Delgado and Jah Woosh have recently recorded there. Dougie is a well respected reggae collector who has been approached by Bunny Lee to provide some of the legendary JA producers rarest cuts for CD re-issue.

The major musical influences of the Conscious Sounds crew are the Jamaican production giants Lee Perry, Scientist and KIng Tubby influential throughout the world as producers of the deepest dub music ever known to man!

With Andy Kershaw and John Peel sessions already under his belt, Dougie is set to spread his wings and fly beyond the secular world of the Dub Sound Systems that are home to his tunes to the world beyond carrying Conscious Sounds and the Bush Chemists with him.
