ACTS OF LOVE
(Fifty songs to my other self.)
Poem 27
Text-only version

27.

Soft Grass,
Green grass, better not stand here,
because the grass will be turning brown.

Blue sky,
soft sky, better not stand here,
because the rain will come tumbling down.

Everything changes, moment by moment,
caught within its own game.

You can't live avoiding the insects in the path.
You can't tip toe through forests pretending that you've never been there.

Everywhere you go you bend the earth,
you can't feel guilty.
Everywhere you sleep you warm the earth,
you mustn't feel guilty.

Frog, toad, newt, salmon, all cold water beings, bed in my tears.
Butterfly, bird, bee, moth, all flying beings, bed in my hair.
Cat, cow, goat, dog, all warm flesh beings, bed in our arms.

In your time I live
When you awake, I shall awake.

Let us live together, we could love each other.
