These videos were put together from 1978 to 1984 and were part of all CRASS gigs. Using a video camera, images were recorded from black and white television to make a 90 minute video collage called Background. With two video collage machines linked so that one machine would over ride the other, I could play the Background tape and drop in specific footage without a break in the imagery. The same went for the sound, collaged together and spun around the hall, emphasising the performance on stage. Using the technology we had access to at the time was always hit and miss, and I have left it much as it was: jumps, shakes, snags and all. Do not adjust your set, only your life.
