Workshop: 3D Modelling for 3D Printing

The course is for those with very little or no experience of 3D modelling but with basic PC/Mac user skills and I will be covering the following:
- Design a 3D model using Free software-SketchUp
- Save the 3D model in an stl format that is compatible with 3D Printer software and learn to download and install extensions to the software.
- Prepare the object for printing whilst optimising printing parameters for a good quality print.
- Use ReplicatorG to slice the model and generate a set of printing instructions (Gcode).
- Learn to print from a computer connected to a 3D Printer and as a .x3g file on an SD Card.
- Print the model.

To download extensions:
Those attending will need to sign up for a Google Account in order to download extensions which will be needed for exporting stl files.
To do this Go to http://extensions.sketchup.com/ and Click on Sign in which is on the top right hand side of the page > Click on Create an account > Can use a current email address r can create a gmail account > will need to create a password > they will be required to provide a telephone number and using the number given will be provided with a verification code almost immediately upon creating the account >MUST SIGN IN and OUT of the Account prior to attending to check that it is set up correctly and BRING USERNAME and PASSWORD details with them to the session.
