Venue: Phoenix Cube

Frequencies (a) by Canadian artist Nicolas Bernier is an installation of sound and light.

Winner of the prestigious Golden Nica prize at Ars Electronica, the artwork merges the piercing hum of mechanically triggered tuning forks with pure digital soundwaves.

Streams of light burst in harmony with the forks, alternatively illuminating the exhibition in stark white light and plunging it into complete darkness.

Frequencies (a) continues Nicolas Bernier's exploration of the relationship between organic sound and digital techniques and launches as part of Visible Bits, Audible Bytes.

A video about the work can be found here.
