THE INTERNET is getting big, it's happening fast and it's up to you to be part of it!
The Internet is a world wide web of information made of web sites which link together. On February 20th 1994 it was stated by Sun Microsystems that "There are 27,000 Web sites and this number is doubling every 53 days" However it is acknowledged that it would be impossible for the Web to continue to grow at this rate.
Moving from one site to another is known as 'Surfing' and can become quite an art ! Whatever kind of information you are looking for it is virtually guarenteed to be there.....be it gardening, music, education, ice cream, or astrology.
Useage of the Internet is growing fast with more people being introduced every day and the number of people is doubling every year, with '13.5 million internet users in October 1994' (Matrix information and Directory Services) Please note these statistics are not gospel and have been derived from many sources one being Robert Orenstein at the Irresponsible Internet Statistics Generator and quoting them 'there is no absolute way to measure any statistic regarding the growth of the Internet.
