"1995-5" (66K JPEG)
In the piece "1995-5" I have endeavored to convey a sense of social/generational conflict as it relates to childhood. In the 1940's and 50's children emulated their war-time heroes while playing with toy guns. Today children all too often shoot each other with real guns. While certain members of our society recognize the tragic correlation between these two acts, I fear most are blinded by their desire to remain in a more innocent past. The piece was created using collected as well as created photographic sources. It currently exists as a 96 x 96 inch, tiled, ink-jet print.
