MENINGITIS
I came back from school on an ordinary day, and I was feeling a bit off but I thought I was alright. I suddenly felt very tired so I went to sleep and I woke up a couple of times to get a glass of water and then I went back to sleep. A couple of days later I woke up in hospital with suspected bacterial meningitis!

Being in hospital would have been like heaven if I wasn't so ill - I mean free food and drinks when ever you want them and staying in bed for days - that's my heaven anyway!

My dad came home from work and there was already some people round my house who were going to have a meeting with my dad, my dad said to my mum " This boy is seriously ill, we have to ring a doctor"
This boy is seriously ill, we have to get a doctorUnfortunately there was no doctor who could come round, so my mum and dad had to take me to the NHS Walk In Centre.

Our nosy neighbour must of thought my mum and dad had killed me because I was unconscious. I can just imagine her telling the police - that would have been another interesting twist to me having meningitis.

Later on I was told what happened at the Walk In Centre. I had a shot of penicillin and a saline drip put into my arm and then I was
rushed to Leicester Royal with a temperature of 106 degrees fahrenheit!

In short, I had to go back for a week of further antibiotics that makes your pee smell gross, it took me a long time to get well enough to go back to school full time but now I'm basically back to full strength.
