WHY WE NEED CARBOHYDRATES |
- Carbohydrates can be found in foods such as bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, chapatis and cereals.
- Carbohydrates are an important energy supplier and act as a "protein sparer", so that protein can get on with the job of body growth and repair. The two food groups are often eaten together - "meat and potatoes" and "bread and cheese".
- The more active you are the more foods from this group you will need.
