GRANDPARENTS

I was saying the other night to my friend that I felt I didn’t belong in some places and that the only people that I could probably talk to - I described everyone as teachers, and like you wouldn’t go to a German teacher and ask him about English, cos he wouldn’t have a clue. And you wouldn’t go to an English teacher and ask him about Humanities, he wouldn’t have a clue. You’ve got to go to the right teacher for the right lessons. My aunt, I could talk to her about some lessons, my dad again more lessons about three, but my nana I could talk to her about anything. She’s like the head teacher. She can teach any lesson. Yeah, that’s the best way I can describe it: head teacher of the family

I usually call my nana every day, we like ask each other what we’ve done and it’s excellent really.

Sometimes I go to my nana’s house. She’s about 74 and I go to her house and sometimes I help her. She usually goes in to Loughborough and she’s got a limp and sometimes she can’t always walk far, so whenever I can, I go with her, so I can help her when she gets stuck and you know, can’t sit down. That way I can quickly run and save a bench.

I was close to my nana even when my mum was alive. I could talk to my mum and my nana about any subject you like, and they would understand. My nana, she’s always like “yeah I know exactly what you mean” and I never have to repeat myself, except for sometimes when she can’t hear, but the rest of the time she can hear and she always understands.
