DADS |
Since Mum walked out, Dad has had to learn to cook for us.
He's not bad - he sometimes burns stuff. At first hes only learned how to make curries, but last year the only thing he knew how to make was beans on toast. The rest he didnt have a clue.
We can excuse him for burning things a little bit, but sometimes we cant, especially if we're starving!
I usually help him, cos Im a good cook and Im always showing him what to do, and it comes out OK. It sometimes does get burnt, but I dont mind the cooker. Dad does.
But hes also a dangerous cook, and sometimes he's a hazard in the kitchen!
Ive had training in that at school and one time he had left a knife in the sink and he just chucked it in, and it wasnt in properly and the knife was still pointing out by accident. If anyone had moved straight forward it would have gone in them. And I said dad, you didnt put the knife in properly. When youre dealing with knives and fragile crockery, you always put it in gently, cos it could always go wrong. Thats what the teacher said. |
